DSCHUNGEL WIEN – Theatre for young audiences in the MuseumsQuartier Vienna is an open centre for children, families, teenagers and young adults – a hub for arts and culture for young audiences since October 2004, led by Stephan Rabl (artistic director). Our focus
lies on the presentation of cultural capital to children and teenagers, references to current social topics and intermediary and artistic work with children and teenagers. The programme is dedicated to the full spectrum of performing arts: acting, narrative theatre, dance, musical, puppet and object theatre up to opera and interdisciplinary forms. The theatre DSCHUNGEL WIEN has earned national and international recognition as a model theatre for young audiences that has its roots firmly in the local community. The fact that our theatre is nationally and internationally established enables us to continuously cooperate with theatres, theatre companies, cultural institutes and all kinds of different cooperation partners.
With its work, DSCHUNGEL WIEN sets highlights for a dynamic introduction into the different manifestations of society, but it also imparts the joy of playing life's different roles. The cooperation with progressive and artistically brave theatre makers and an ambitious programme constantly showing new national and international productions all contribute to reach young audiences and make art and culture a part of their everyday lives.
