The participants of our laboratory were between 17 and 19 years old.
When belonging to this age group, the question for the histories, the societal
situations, the structures and the sounds of different languages is not the
most urgent question one would ask. Correspondingly, the progression of the
laboratory can be depicted as a process of approach towards the differences
between the German and the Hungarian language that was pressed ahead by all
participants over the course of a week. The understanding and misunderstanding
that we witnessed in many situations has been experienceable in many role plays
and exercises on stage. Everybody’s desire to play a lot has been noticeable- a
delight for all of us. On the other hand, the reflection, what we were playing
and why, was purely work.
The concentrated and sometimes also exhausting work had its effects: on
the one hand a successful interaction with the audience became possible at the
presentation and on the other hand, it was also a personal success for me,
because the participants afterwards resumed that they had learned a lot during
this week.
The question that arose for me personally is the question for the
relationship between reflection and direct physical expression of what one is
thinking of.
